Ghandi’s 7 dangers to human virtue

1.    Wealth without work.

2.    Pleasure without conscience.

3.    Knowledge without character.

4.    Business without Ethic’s.

5.    Science without humanity.

6.    Religion without Sacrifice.

7.    Politics without principal.

Bob Marley -

He’s not perfect. You aren’t either, and the two of you will never be perfect. But if he can make you laugh at least once, causes you to think twice, and if he admits to being human and making mistakes, hold onto him and give him the most you can. He isn’t going to quote poetry, he’s not thinking about you every moment, but he will give you a part of him that he knows you could break. Don’t hurt him, don’t change him, and don’t expect more than he can give. Don’t analyse. Smile when he makes you happy, yell when he makes you mad and miss him when he’s not there. Love hard when there is love to be had. Because perfect guys don’t exist, but there’s always one guy that is perfect for you.

William Shakespear -

You say that you love rain,

But you open your umbrella when it rains,

You say that you love the sun,

But you find a shadow spot when the sun shines.

You say that you love the wind,

But you close your windows when wind blows.

This is why I am afraid, you say that you love me too.

Mark Twain -

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that

you didn’t do than by the ones that you did do. So throw off the bowlines.

Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sail.

And ofcourse….

Conventional is a good fall-back position isn’t it?

I would not go as far as to say it’s a good “fall-back” position but it could be the basis to many things in life. What I am saying is for instance when I started cooking I had to be taught the basics which was what most people would consider to be the conventional way of cooking. Once I could “stir with my own two hands”, I started to pick up the pace a little and began to mix and match different recipes and created my own style.

This spread into my other passions which by now most of you should know that my number 1 passion in life is raising children, again not my own (not now at least) but other people’s children. Over the years I have watched moms and dads raise their children the conventional way with a flair or two of their own spice in the mix. I took the basics applied it to my love for kids and I took off like a wildfire from there.

I have loved every learning curve that the conventional way has taught me and I have loved being able to add my own special ingredient to each as I have grown into my own person. The thing is if you don’t start somewhere (that somewhere is in most cases the conventional way) then you can’t get anywhere. The key is to take the conventional, add a touch of the unconventional and finally a sprig of your own special ingredient and the result perfection of its own kind.
The Conventional and not-so-conventional ;)

You can not chase two rabbits at the same time

I find this statement or topic highly contradicts the saying “to kill two birds with one stone”. Why I say this, is because normally a person uses the above, “to kill two birds with one stone”, in a positive light i.e. People say you should do as many things as possible all at the same time in order to get more done in a short period of time. Whereas the title of this blog post seems to be on the opposite end of that stick in saying don’t do more than one thing at a time! In my eyes both are true but it will depend on the situation in order for one to judge which is will be suitable for that specific occasion.
Life is never easy and we are all always trying to do too much and in too much of a hurry. This often sets us back even further as things are not done properly. If you are able to delegate and think things through before you start this may prevent things from going horribly wrong. Figure out what works best for you and then stick with it…if you’re a one thing at a time person then don’t try to force yourself to do too many things at once because it will never work out the way you want it to.

MMA - Mixed Martial Arts

I attended my first ever MMA fight on Friday night. This is not something I would normally choose to do but as one of my very good friends, John had decided to enter his first fight, I had to be there to support him.

I was terrified at first and on entering the venue I went directly to the bar and got myself a drink. I got standing tickets and found a spot with a couple of my friends. We watched the first few fights and I realised it wasn’t as terrible as I expected it to be; well there wasn’t any blood.
There were a couple of hectic fights but on the whole it didn’t seem to get too rough. Then it was John’s fight…my entire body froze as the music came on and I watched him come out. He looked confident and actually kind of happy in a weird way, he entered the ring and then his opponent came out. This guy was seriously big but slightly overweight which eased my nerves a bit.
The fight began and this guy jumped right in swinging a right punch almost immediately. John was quick and managed to dodge the punch and send his own one in the direction of the guy and he CONNECTED with him. Well the fight went on for a little while and John was doing well…so well that in fact his opponent tapped out after the first round and John won!!!
I was so happy for him and proud of him. My only worry is now that he has one he will want to keep going.

Dancing Queen

I got back on the “So you think you can dance” track the other night via YouTube…That show still manages to blow my mind every time I start watching it. The dancers are all so talented and it’s amazing how they are able to dance so many different genres.
I managed to pick out my new favourite in a matter of minutes, Melanie. This young 19 your old is one of the most dynamic, energetic and vibrant dancers I have ever seen. She captivates you from the moment she hits the stage and you can’t take your eyes off her until she has left.
I was a bit upset that a friend of mine told me she won this season of the show as I would have liked to have watched for myself but in the back of my head I knew she would have won anyway so it wasn’t too much of a surprise.
Anyway here is one of my favourite dances she performed…let me know what you think!

"Nothing is more dangerous than an idea, when you only have one" (Alain)

All ideas tend to be dangerous. They are definitely not something you should put money on. An idea alone is  not an investment; however if someone follows through on a specific idea, then it becomes something worth investing in.

Now it's always good to have more than one idea because if there is no plan B well quite simply your screwed...Your first "idea" may seem to be the best one you have ever had but even though they say go with your first instinct, this doesnt really apply to ideas. Ok in some ways it does but the idea needs to be flexible and you should be able to make variations to it and in the end it will more than likely turn out to be non-other than...plan B.

Being creative and being able to come up with ideas is a fabulous gift and one no person should ever ignore but limiting yourself to one great idea is not healthy and definitely not productive and forward thinking therefore you should never be afraid to have an idea and act on it but be willing to work with the idea and mould it into something worth all your time an effort.

Being Veggie

I have been vegetarian for majority of my life. I began this whole venture at the tender age of three. It all started after having a few pony riding lessons on a farm. My brother some how figured out by making the sounds of the animals ( I had seen chickens, cows and sheep on the farm) he was able to put me off and get my portion of the meat.

Some how my mom realised that this was not just a passing phase and let me carry on learning more about being veggie. It took me a while to figure it all out and only at the age of 10 I stopped eating all meat. People may think that I'm lacking protein in my diet but in actual fact I feel sick if I eat too much protein in a veggie form; especially when one considers that 5 raw almonds are the equivalent amount of protein that one would find in a steak!!!

Anyway the point is whilst on the internet the other day I found and image of a cow doing its' business on the grass and words written on this image said, "My food shits on your food". Well I couldn't stop laughing I think I even had a few tears in my eyes and decided this needed to be my new Facebook profile picture :) Some may find this idea really weird but in my mind why not laugh at yourself...If you can't laugh at yourself then who can you laugh at???

Have you figured out the second head fake?

I thought about this post for all of about 5minutes before I figured it out. The second fake head = Rustenburg high school AND at least 75% of women in this world (and possibly a few men). Now I know this sounds very judgemental and it probably is and my stats may be way off but thats just it' they are my stats and so they can be off.

I love to try see the BEST in people and all too often I get let down but I still keep trying. I went to an all girls school hoping to find kind-hearted, awesome people and instead I find the mother of all "second fake head"! Ok so I havent exactly explained what my idea of what the "second fake head" is all about...I think that that this topic is base on the FAKE people of this world; those people that are one person on the inside and another on the outside. This is where the second head comes into play because you need two heads in order to become these two different personalities.

I hate this sort of thing and still to this day feel like even though I gained a great education from RGHS; I feel that in some ways it made me a more bitchy female and have to call myself out for being unnecessarily judgemental or fake to people. This is not a characteristic I treasure and am constantly working on trying to push it out of who I am and who I want to be!!!
